Founded in 1947 as a hobby Woody's Nursery is now a third generation business and one of the oldest family owned businesses in the Duluth Area.
In the 1960's Woody's Nursery was one of the pioneers in the new container nursery industry, growing plants in food can before metal or plastic containers were available. Woody's produced quality plants for the Atlanta market as Duluth was still a rural area.
With growth in sight in 1973 the nursery moved to it's present location and began supplying the landscape industry as well as home gardeners with quality plants at a reasonable price. Soon growing to 12 employees and 13 acres Woody's not only was growing plants but became a dealer for fine growers in the southeast.
